Population Growth in Springville
Land Area
The City currently includes 14.39 square miles of area, but will ultimately include about 16.6 square miles in area. It is anticipated that at build-out, between 50% to 60% of all land in the city will be used residentially.
Population
Springville City continues to grow at an average annual growth rate of 4% annually, based on population estimates calculated based on new residential construction. A 4% growth rate is considered very high, but manageable, provided adequate planning is done to handle transportation and other infrastructure needs. An average annual growth rate of 4% is anticipated through build-out. Build-out is expected to occur in the mid-to-late 2020s and the population is projected to be between 55,000 and 65,000 residents. In 2001, the Planning Division prepared a population projection which extrapolated historic growth.
